Mission

The mission of PCS is to train and equip the children of interested parents for a life of faithful Christian service. To accomplish this mission, we will:
  1. serve the home and the church.
    1. uphold the church's doctrinal positions and standards in its interpretation of New Testament Christianity.

    2. strengthen the role of the home as God's basic institution for training and discipling children.

    3. provide appropriate assistance for families to meet their children's educational needs.

    4. present both home education and church school education as valid and feasible options.

  2. provide Christ-centered spiritual nurture.

    1. employ staff who demonstrate Christian maturity.

    2. favor curriculum with a Biblical perspective.

    3. interact individually with students in ways that lead them into deepening Christian discipleship.

  3. maintain high standards of academic instruction.

    1. employ staff who are competent in their subject areas and apt to teach.

    2. facilitate staff development through continuing education opportunities for teachers in home schools and classroom schools.

    3. devise means to enable each individual to perform to the level of his God-given potential.

    4. utilize standardized testing to help evaluate student performance and instructional effectiveness.

  4. prepare students for productive livelihood.

    1. instill the joy and value of rigorous labor.

    2. provide instruction in homemaking and trade skills.

    3. prepare our young people for life-long growth and development.

  5. inspire students to Christian ministry.

    1. teach God's claim on each person's life.

    2. teach and model God's burden for lost souls.

    3. provide exposure to mission and ministry opportunities.

    4. promote the understanding that each Christian's life work is to be a distinctly Christian ministry.

General Information

PCS was founded by the Center and Cedar Crest Amish Mennonite Churches to provide a learning environment that combines spiritual nurture and academic instruction for the children of interested parents. This institution purposes to provide instruction from a biblical perspective; to seek academic excellence according to the God-given abilities of each individual; to teach moral values from the Judeo-Christian foundation; to lead boys and girls to the repudiation of the world, the flesh, and the devil; and to promote Anabaptist theology, including repentance and amendment of life, believers’ baptism, perseverance of the saints, non-resistant peacemaking, and Christian service and missions.
